apparently, i like me some stripes.

[can you see that navy blue thick string in my hair? that's my new dread/navy blue thick string in my hair. but for reals though. and i'm keepin' it! and possibly doing a lavender one too, because those are my colors. freak yeah. and i know you're jealous of how cool i look in this picture. i am too.]

last monday, i didn't have class, so i slept in.
it was glorious.
and then i watched worked on some school stuff and homework, then got ready to go meet tiff at school when she was done with classes.
we were originally planning on going over to the pompidou and checking it out again since we didn't see everything last time, but you know us in paris. everything doesn't always go according to planned.
what happened was i was starving. and a falafel sounded bomb to me [doesn't it always? plus, i think i love the idea that i can be full beyond belief for only 5 euro. what a deal! because, it takes a lot to fill this baby up. just kidding boys. okay, i'm done.], so i dragged tiff over there [l'as du falafel]. and proceeded to get hit on by the falafel man, which was fine by me because he gave me extra hot sauce [for the hot girl]. again, flirting=results.
[me and my man. oh, and the guy behind me.]

and on the way, we walked inside this installation of fashion pieces that we had glanced at earlier in the week. it was absolutely gorgeous. i really love fashion that is displayed as art and has meaning and character to how it's displayed.

[completely obsessed with this top, both the color and the design. modern take on a classic top.]
[this weaving was weaved<--pop=pun on purpose...throughout the whole room, and i loved it! i'd love to make something like that.]

anyways, so we walked around for a bit while i finished eating, and then decided to go up a street we hadn't gone up before, which led us to this uber-cute navajo indian/western-ish-looking clothing that we fell in love with. tiff got some stuff, and i fell in love with some things, but decided to wait until after we hit up one of my favorite thrift shops out here before i decided to purchase. and man, was i glad i waited!
i got a dress and two scarves, all for the small price of fifteen euros.
[yes, i know my dress is adorable. when i put it on, i look like a sailor. and i like it.]
[my two scarves for 2.50 euros each! one's nautical and one's hippie. so yeah, i think i got things covered.]

after our shopping, we realized it was time for fhe and that we didn't have time to go to the pompidou, but that's okay. fhe was super fun...we played this game at the end that i've never heard of called "michael jackson" where whoever's "it" points at someone and says "michael" and then they point at someone and say "jackson" and the people on both sides of the "jackson" person have to throw their hands up and scream like michael jackson. it sounds dumb, and i thought it was at first, but when you start going fast, it gets scary. and i get competitive really easily, so i was all into it. and yes, i won. okay, i tied. but it's because technically neither of us could win in the end. but really though, i won...

when me and tiff came home, our lady handed us huge piles of clothes that her daughter had given her as she was going through her things because she was moving, and said we could look through and keep what we liked. basically from the looks of all of it, we knew we wouldn't legitimately like any of it, but we still had fun trying it all on.
today on the tiffany show....
[seriously, i can totally just see this as an ad for mervyns or "penny's" or something.]
[tiff is so innovative, she turned this skirt into a dress. pure genius! i'm kidding.]
[just going out for tea! love that white leather jacket. those are just so in right now. along with this diagonal hemmed skirt. yum.]
[and let's not forget this flared leather pants. those are just a special treat.]

as you can see, we had a fun time "trying" the clothes on. and i actually did like one of the blazers, a long white coat, and this one blue hat that i'm going to wear for a fall party one of the girls is throwing.

moral of the story: shopping in thrift stores if more fun than shopping in department stores. okay, not really, but kinda.

  1. Ooh, Im going to tell Nordstrom that you said that. Demoted.

    A few thoughts...
-Freaking in love with your sailor dress. And I have a cute red sailor dress and when you get back we should put them on, take pictures, and then go on a boat or something.
-Lets learn how to weave together
-If there is anything good amongst those hand me downs, you know how I will pretty much just take about anything. You know, for my Hawaiian nights or when Im J Lo for Halloween.
-"Pennys? You didn't find anything at Penny's?"
    -I want Tiffany's legs
-Why do the fashion manequin art people have bands covering their eyes? What does this represent?
-The picture of you with the Falafel is one of the cutest I've ever seen...you look so pretty. I'd flirt with you too! And give you more hot sauce.
