what would you do for a klondike bar?

[even though this looks like america, it's most definitely france. and pay no attention to those fat stubby feet near the bottom. those aren't mine.]

that song has been stuck in my head all night, making me want a dang klondike bar but they don't have them in france, so now i'm physically frustrated. that is not to be meant in any perverted way. keeping my mouth shut. moving on...

last monday, we went to another cathedral in albi. c'est trop fort! [i may or may not be cussing, i have no idea. my brother from another host mother taught me that little ditty.]
anyways, the cathedral was very different looking because it basically was just a really tall brick building and then some random cathedral-like stuff added on [i know you're digging on my supa' fine architectural jargon that i managed to remember from humanities 101. shoutout to my girl brinn.]
[don't i look like i'm trying to be on america's next top model? what a dork. tyra made me do it. but really though, check out this awkward cathedral.]
[up close and personal. it really is gorgeous how intricate and dramatic it is.]

but never judge a book by it's cover, because this cathedral was by far the prettiest and most dramatic on the inside.

[not the best of pictures, but this is after listening to a little cellphone-like thing talk about the history building and blah blah blah for an hour, so you're dubbed lucky that i was sane and happy enough to shoot these babies.]

after the cathedral, we quickly were scooted off to the toulouse musee, which was really fascinating. he's the artist who painted this lovely baby:
[le chat noir. technically this is a cat, not a baby, but whatever. i recognized this picture from my niece's bedroom when she was younger. and yes, this is a picture of a picture. you think i'm gonna pay 1-ish euro for this postcard? no thank youuuu.]
[we weren't allowed to take pictures inside the museum on account of the fact that toulouse's mother insisted that all the paintings not be replicated and stay in the museum or something like that. so we took a picture of me outside to make up for it. i'd say this little number is better than a toulouse, n'est-CE pas? don't answer that if you're gonna say "non".]

after the museum, we ate lunch up in this little secret garden that you could find if you climbed up these little stairs. it totally looks like a romeo and juliet type of place, right? except i couldn't find romeo ANYwhere. probably drank something sketchy.
[pictures really don't do it justice. it was absolutely beautiful, in all seriousness.]

[me and tiffy-kins with our crepes. i'd basically been a crepe virgin before this, so i was pretty excited. survey says: gooooood, but just alittle too rich and sweet for me. whaaaa?? yeah. sad day for me too. wish i could go back to this happy time when i thought i'd like a literal handful of sugar and chocolat. also, i promise i ate a sandwich before this.]

after this, we got on the bus and took off for our adorable bed&breakfast in racamadour which was a dreamboat, to say the least. it was kinda like a lost dying puppy. how could you not fall in love with it?

[me, tiff, sam, and kristine got to share this little mini-house together and this was the view from our window. you jellin' like a fellin' yet? i sure am.]
[i was lovin' me some rocks. sérieusement guys, how gorg.]

we all got settled in and some people went swimming while others [me, tiff, sam, hailey] went on a little walk in the meadow behind everything.

[there i go again, listening to tyra. ignore the house in the background. it's really nbd.]
[ohhh look out everyone, michelle's getting all artsy again. or attempting. really though, i love the moss.]

and then we went off to dinner at a restaurant i can't remember, because i was too busy looking out at this.

[my view at din din. yes sir.]

if you think the view is good, wait til you see the food. boy, did we eat good.
[started off with a salade with duck giblets and pâté, which was not my favorite. it was chilled and tasted kinda like raw-ish meat that a baby ate and they made it throw up. yeah, so actually it wasn't really good at all, i guess. i did get a kick out of saying "i think it's the pâté" to everyone, which they didn't get. hasn't anybody seen ace ventura around here? it's a classic.]
next was steamed veggies, frites, and whaddyaknow. more duck. duckin' duck. the french surrrre do love their duck around here. don't get me wrong, i do like duck. but when you have it for many meals in many shapes and forms, you get alittle sick of it.]

then they announced that it was dessert time, which of course, i got excited for.
[ohhh....yayyy...cheeese. and nutsss. nah, it was actually pretty good. it was goat cheese, and alot of the girls didn't really like it, but i didn't mind it. i would've traded my nuts for a cracker if possible, but did i have that option? no.]

l'esplanade! that's what the restaurant was called. no, i didn't see it from the picture below. i remembered it all on my own......after i looked at the picture below.
[they saved the day with this one. not only was the flower adorable, but this was like some kind of almondy-flavored ice cream with fresh whipped cream, which i'm a sucker for, so naturally i melted off my chair and floated away on a cloud. and i kept that flower, by the way.]

i'm really loving on the south of france, if you can't tell. it's charming in every way possible [even when they try and shove duck down my throat every day] and makes me want to marry it. and by george, at this point, i just might.

  2. Your dress is to die for! And it looks great on you. Almondy Icecream...you had me at hello. And that Bed & Breakfast might be the coolest place Ive ever seen. Southern France is definitely incredible and put it on the list of places I must go.

  3. Hey, I saw that you used French words in your blog, so I'm gonna write a French sentence. Don't worry it will be easy to understand. Tes photos du Sud de la France sont trop belles! I regret I had no holidays last summer :(
I'm also a super fan of ace ventura! (et j'adore le pâté aussi ^^)
I'm surprised you ate so much duck because a lot of french people eat more chicken or beaf. (cheaper than duck :D)
