the tiffany show

[fancy mustard. i have about ten pictures of this because tiff had no camera and insisted on getting a picture of it. that's some pretty famous yellow goo.]

sunday, we woke up early to catch the RER [supa' flyin' fast train] to get out to versailles for stake conference. i was a little nervous that we were gonna get lost, but turns out we ran into all the girls right when we got off the train, and then the missionaries, so all was well.

conference was great aside from the fact that it was all in french. yeah, i hardly understood a word, except for when they had english translators. my french is so pathetic. but i'm workin' on it! the frankfort, germany temple president did speak about how we don't let our hearts steer our decisions enough and how we'll have a thought and then our head will say "but,". i thought it was really cool.
 and obviously, i took notes...
[no this is not a monet, but it's an original dastrup. my right hand with my left hand's characteristics. yes brinn and carly, that is my pink glitter nail polish still. and yes world, i do have chubby fingers. deal with it! just more to love...]

afterwards, we all decided to check out the chateau de versailles, which was king louis xiv's. it was overwhelmingly beautiful and huge on the outside.

[matin, hollie, meesh, and tiffykins]

fun story: we didn't actually go in. it was suuuuper crowded all around because of that holiday where all the tourist-y stuff is free for the weekend, and me and tiff were really tired and wanted to just go back home and chill for the day. plus, everyone else was leaving and planned on coming back together so yeah.

we headed back and went out to eat at this little chinese food restaurant down the street [don't hate, we had no groceries], which was okay. i didn't bring my camera, but i'll fill you in: i got chinese food. it was pretty cheap, which explains the quality as well if you know what i mean. not bad, but not good. panda express-status. so yeah, not really good.

we were relaxing in my room for awhile when madame came in and told us to come meet her son who had just come home. [ahhhhhh! so the son did come home. come to mama sonny.] we went out and met
"manu" [short for emmanuel], who was not too shabby looking. and he did the kiss-kiss thing on the cheeks to me, which was pretty cool. so yeah, i giggled like a school girl basically. i was a bit of a first-timer on that one. not kissing in general. moving on...

me, tiff, and manu sat and talked for a couple hours. they made me play the piano for them and then manu got on and basically spanked that thing like nobody's business [the piano, not me hahaha]. and then we made tiff sing, which was bangin'. i pretty much live with tiff-tina aguilera guys. it was alot of fun though. manu said he'd get some of his friends together and we could all hangout sometime....we'll see how that goes. oh, and side note, homeboy's an addict or somethin' because he smoked like 3 ciggy's in about 30 minutes. pretty sure that's not super healthy on those things we call lungs, but go ahead and indulge on your paper-wrapped tar, my boy.

it was really cute though because he offered to make us dinner, which i was way excited about because madame was gonna make us fish if not, and i couldn't find it in me to tell her i don't like fish [literally though, i couldn't remember the words in french to tell her....je n'aime pas le poisson? maybe.]. he came up with this little ditty:
[mmmm double delicious. it was steak with this pesto-y basil dressing on top. the steak was cooked probably a little less than medium rare, so what does that make it? 1/3 rare? whatever. and that salad dress was really good. he said it was a mix of mustard and balsalmic vinegar. definite note to self, because that stuff was like heaven in my mouth. also, i was really impressed with the dressing-in-the-tomato aspect. homeboy may be a wheezer, but he's a little fancy shmancy when it comes to cooking and presentation. and i yike it. i yike it awot. done.]

madame's daughter also came over for dinner as well, even though i can't remember her name. she was really sweet and nice though-spoke to me and tiff in english alot, as well as manu. i think we really needed it...it set me at ease, at least. i felt more comfortable and more at home. then, they all went to drop off the daughter and left me and tiff with these bread crackers and the most delicious creamy cheese ever. no joke, we were on cloud 9 with that shiz.
[this cheese saved our lives. not really, but kinda. plus, those bell peppers in balsalmic vinegar were more addicting than ciggy's....not that i would know...]

[as you can see, us americans still know how to get down. and let me know if you would like to subscribe to "the tiffany show". it's gonna be big.]

today was definitely a blessing. and it came just in time for school to start.
